DAY NINETEEN: where is the love?

if you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?

love more.

love others. love yourself.

why can’t we all just get along?

why are we so keen on spreading hate? bullying, torturing, hurting, killing, discriminating, raping, judging. hate hate hate.

we need to love everyone. every single person we come in contact with.

it does not matter what they are doing in life, what they look like, the choices they make, the people they are, the religion they practice, what sexual orientation they are, what they do for a living, what their family looks like, what wrongs they have done to us.

we need to love others more!

loving them doesn’t mean you endorse what they are doing. it doesn’t mean that you want to hang out with them. it doesn’t mean you get a say in their life.

it means that you respect them.

you don’t know what they are going through in life. you don’t know the inner workings of their mind and soul. you don’t know all the things that are weighing them down.

we don’t need to add to the things that bring them down. we don’t have the right to be hurtful to others. we don’t have the right to judge them.

we just need to love them.

we need to love ourselves more.

if you had a friend who spoke to you the way that you speak to yourself, how long would you allow that person to be your friend?

not very long, i guarantee it.

you don’t have to look a certain way to deserve love from yourself or others. you don’t have to have certain personality traits. you don’t have to have certain things.

you deserve love for being you. for being the best you that you can be.

you deserve love from yourself.

you are a majestic, magical creature!

there are so many amazing things you can do and be!

you are beautiful and you are capable of doing beautiful things!

i hope that this message touched you. i hope you can feel how strongly i feel about this.

  1. Beautiful, beautiful, post. Yes, I can feel how strongly you feel about it, from the strength of your writing. I totally agree with all you say….how do we get other people to listen??!! LOVE your line, “you are a majestic, magical creature!” and LOVE that you included not just love directed towards others but, also, self-love….I think that’s the root of many of the problems we face in communities/society: so many people don’t love themselves and that self-hatred (or even ‘self-dislike’) then gets thrown outwards to others, who are also perhaps full of self-hatred/self-misunderstanding who then throw it outwards and on and on and on in a horrible vicious circle….

    1. i know right!! why can’t everyone just listen and love.
self-love is indeed a huge problem. it makes people think that they can’t do things, but they really can! it could change the world if we all love ourselves first! it is such a vicious cycle.

      1. Yeah, the Dalai Lama says that peace would come, in future generations, if we taught every 8 year old to meditate….it just gets rid of all the crap and cuts to the juicy stuff of life (she says, eloquently 😉
